Making Scented Bath Salts for YA MUM!

This was a great fun project, that was experimental and not too messy. I looked up a lot of recipes online but decided just to wing it, which is my preferred style whenever I cook or craft anyway.

So we used a heap of Himalayan salts (which actually comes from Pakistan), a small heap of Epsom salts ( they come from Epsom in the UK-we get them cheap from the horse supplies shop) and a handful of Bi-Carb.

We then bunged in some smelly oils and food colouring. We used baby rose perfume oil mixed with meditation oil. It smells pretty sickly, like a 1960's Nana, but that's what the t'girl wanted! We tried to make purple salts (her fave colour) by mixing blue and pink food dye but it kind of failed and turned out a gross blue-ish pink.  We then popped them into some cute bottles that we bought in Queensland while visiting Vonnie and the gang.

We will make these again for sure. But I will take control and choose the smells next time and we will also try using colour brites that I get from Aussie Soap Supplies .

Baking Bread!

Crazy fun mess!
Completely immersed in the task of kneading!
 The results!

YUM BUM! With butter and sprinkles.

Bread making....

Me and big't made bread and we made one loaf of bred each. I got a bit upset because my loaf wasn't perfect but it still was delicious and it was fun to make. I liked kneading and watching them rise. Me and mum have finished eating one loaf and there's one loaf to go We used yeast spelt flower vingar oil water and it made our delicious bred!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*This is lil't's write up. I have not edited her spelling mistakes. I want her posts to be show her natural state of development!

Amazing Life Changes

Leaving the shop, the school and opening a page to a new life!

After 4 years attempting to become a financially independent single mum running a design shop, I have decided to chuck it all in for a simpler life. I have taken my daughter Lil't (I am known as Big T) out of school and am putting my crafty biz Blue Attic online. This is going to be our journey for the next few years. One I hope that will be positive and full of humour and growth and love.

The last four years have been incredibly tough. The tragic death of Lil't's dad 3 years ago has taken a massive toll on us both, and suffering post traumatic stress while running a biz has stuffed up my health and set back the ol' career, but! we have survived with the help of our amazing friends and family, and via my own alternative ways we are here now. Ready to set sail on a new adventure!

Along the way you will see what we are getting up to in the kitchen, the craft room, and the school room (it's the biggest room, we have the whole universe). We will meet some of Lil't's teachers, whom are some our closest friends, and we will keep you posted on our excursions. Also I think there will be a few posts on the arts and music, with a focus on local and Australian talent!
